Scrolling aimlessly down our SoundCloud feed, we stumbled onto Kiya Lacey. The way she harmonized with herself on Earth, her latest EP release captured our soul, made us believe in real vocals again, and ultimately had us shook. While she continued to top our playlists, we needed more. This May, Kiya made her Miami debut on our purple lit stage gaining new fans and making us lust even harder. Although we don’t have a release date for another full project from the Tennessee born but Atlanta based R&B savior, we settled for DOWN, her latest single release. It echos loud and clear through our Spotify channel, but we all knew a visual was needed.
Kiya Lacey’s DOWN visual captures Kiya in her greatest light: blue, just like her braids. She serves three looks in the video including our favorite, in the fur bra and and skirt, but cowgirl Kiya is also a look. She sings Don’t be scared to put it on me, let the tension rise as she tastefully rubs her male model’s bald head and smiles into the camera. Keep in mind, the visual was self directed down to the mood board. We appreciate you Kiya.
